Starting Point:
What everyday
moments in your life give you joy?
What 3 things are
you grateful for today?
What changes
might you need to make to see the positives in your life rather than the
negatives?
Quote:
“I now see that
cultivating a Wholehearted life is not like trying to reach a destination. It’s
like walking toward a star in the sky. We never really arrive, but we certainly
know that we’re heading in the right direction”. Brene Brown
Bible verse:
Bible verse:
Psalm 100:4 Enter
his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
Inspiration:
Brene Brown has written a great book The Gifts of Imperfection where she found that people who live wholeheartedly practice joy, gratitude and creativity. You might feel that this is a heavy place to start but stick with it. Or ignore it today. But I thoroughly recommend the book.
Check out a blog post and video from Roben-Marie Smith who used The Gifts of Imperfection to produce an art journal page.
Technique Challenge:
An
easy challenge today, just to ease you in.
Use
a colour you don’t like, or one you don’t use very often.
Thanks for joining me today. Here is today's PDF to download.
Don't forget to add a photo of your page to Flickr
and add link to your page or blog using the linky.
Brene Brown's book is on my to read list - great to have another nudge. Looking forward to this month.
ReplyDeleteHi Bernice, I'm in for this but I'll be a little behind. I had already planned an attitude of gratitude journal made for a nov.13th post so this will be perfect for it. Thank you, I look forward to it. Glad I found this!
ReplyDeleteHi Bernice, I'm very excited to get started today with this challenge. Looking forward to seeing what everyone is doing. I'll be posting to my blog weekly and try to post to Flicker daily. Thanks again for hosting!

thanks for helping us to focus on all the good in our lives that HE has given us! supports my 1000 gifts journey and prepares my heart for Thanksgiving. I made my journal and painted it last night, will post on my blog and link to the flicker group.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day Bernice!
is it ok if I add your posts to my blog and to some of the facebook groups I am in? a way to get the word out!~
Thank you Diane. Please share wherever you think is appropriate
Deletegreat beginning - TY!
ReplyDeleteI definitely need to focus on the good things as have been having a rough time these past few weeks with health issues. I have a hand sewn little journal ready to be used and have been pondering all day. I did survey of my last couple of scrapbooks for the colour least used (I love all colours) and found black, white and grey are the least used. Gosh this might be interesting today. Thanks for the nudge to get this going - hope I can keep up. BJ
ReplyDelete<3 absolutely wonderful message.....THANK YOU!!!!
ReplyDeleteDone day 1 - not sure I'll be able to keep up but I sure will try. BJ
ReplyDeletewhat a fabulous first day post with the lovely Brene Brown. I just started reading "Daring Greatly" and more incredible work is in that book as well
ReplyDeleteOur internet is toast tonight, so I'll be posting on the blog tomorrow. But had a meaningful time in my journal. Thanks for this.
ReplyDeleteMorning Bernice, Just wondering if you have set a time for the daily posts. I looked at this one and a few of the previous ones and assumed 5am. I woke at 5am but managed to stay in bed 'till now (7am) and eventually logged on but no post yet! BJ the excited!! LOL
ReplyDeleteOops. Sorry BJ. Yes it should have gone live at 5am - it's there now!
DeleteOK, so I'm new to this and I really want to give it a try. I really hope I can keep up. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea!! To focus on thankfulness when the world around is is immersed in Halloween and then preparations for Christmas. It is a great time to prepare our hearts for the real gifts of Christmas and be thankful for what we have, not striving for what the world says we should have. I am so blessed but I spend more time on busyness than I do on thankfulness. I will be following this to remind myself to allow a thankful heart to grow within me.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! I have linked my Day One. :)
ReplyDeleteA little late starting as we have been away, and so many poor things happened it will be hard to find the gratitude - but still, I'll try!! I pray things will get better from now on.
